Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you do need a license unless you are at least 90 years of age or under 16 years of age, or you reside in a licensed nursing home. A Minnesota fishing license can be purchased online from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, by phone, or from a state-approved fishing license agent such as a tackle shop or sporting goods store.
You may call the Captain or the Scheduler after 8:00 A.M. the day of trip. The Captain's phone number will be on your confirmation. We encourage you to call as close to trip time as possible for the most current information. Once you arrive at Winona Marina, the sole decision-maker on cancellations will be the Captain.
Winona Marina's address and phone number are in the footer of this page. Go to the River end of Laird street. The Marina will be on the right. If you are going on an excursion, please don't enter the Marina. Park on the left at the Xcel substation fence.The Marina reserves its parking space to their clientele.
First of all, bring your sense of humor and an attitude of having a good time with friends! Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a warm jacket, depending on weather conditions. If you have a favorite lure bring it along. FFF will provide rods, reels, bait, and life jackets. FFF no longer provides water. The guest must bring their own. We will put it in our cooler.

You can keep the fish you catch within the law. Each fisherman is responsible for cleaning their own catch. Catch and release is also an option.

Nope! We encourage you to go before getting on the pontoon. If you should have to go while on the water, we will simply return to the marina. This is at the Captain's discretion.
